Ingredients
Method
- Prepare the liquid base:If using green tea as a substitute for water, brew the tea first. Let it steep for about 5 minutes, then allow it to cool to a warm (not hot) temperature.
- Add the dry ingredients:In a glass jar or large cup, add the ground flaxseeds, cinnamon, turmeric powder, and black pepper. Stir to mix evenly.
- Add the grated ginger:Peel and finely grate a 1-inch piece of fresh ginger. Add it to the jar.
- Add the liquids:Pour in the apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, and aloe vera juice. Mix thoroughly.
- Add the water or cooled green tea:Slowly pour the liquid into the jar, stirring continuously to avoid clumping of the powders.
- Sweeten (optional):If you want to sweeten the drink, stir in 1 tablespoon of raw honey until it fully dissolves.
- Let it sit:Let the mixture sit for 5–10 minutes to allow the flaxseeds to slightly gel and the flavors to combine.
- Stir again before drinking:Stir the mixture again before consuming, as some ingredients may settle at the bottom.
- Consume immediately or refrigerate:Drink it fresh, or store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Shake well before each use if stored.
Notes
This drink is best consumed in the morning on an empty stomach or 30 minutes before meals.
The turmeric and black pepper combination helps enhance absorption of curcumin, boosting anti-inflammatory effects.
Green tea adds antioxidants and a mild energy boost if used instead of water.
For better digestion, serve at room temperature or slightly warm—avoid serving cold.
